In today's era of globalization, improving the socio-spiritual environment among young people, educating them in the spirit of interethnic harmony and religious tolerance, love for the motherland and loyalty to the country is one of the urgent tasks.
A discussion with industry experts was organized in the activists' hall of the Renaissance University of Education with the participation of professors and students on the topic "It is necessary to fight against ignorance with enlightenment".
Jahangir Melikoziyev, an employee of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, pointed out that in our country, the development of our national traditions and values, the in-depth study of the scientific heritage of our great scholar ancestors, and the education of our youth as a loving, knowledgeable, and intellectually mature generation are the priorities of the state policy. A clear example of this is the fact that the ongoing reforms are well recognized at the world level and are evaluated as an exemplary model of religious tolerance, in particular, the fact that Uzbekistan was removed from the list of countries of particular concern in the field of religious freedom, and the adoption of the resolution "Enlightenment and religious tolerance" proposed by Uzbekistan at the plenary session of the UN General Assembly is a clear example of this. He reported that, despite this, there are cases of giving a religious tone to the socio-political processes taking place in our country, interpreting false ideas as original religious values, and inculcating unhealthy beliefs among the population.
During the event, a documentary film titled "The Value of Peace" was shown to the audience.
